Consider this my blog launching post. Holy hell, I have been working on this thing since May 2016. Yep, almost a year. Sadly, it’s still not perfect since I coded it myself, but what is? Congratulations to me for finally launching it. I welcome your thoughts and feedback.
Funny you should ask. I’m currently in my ridiculous, amazing villa in Hoi An, Vietnam. I’ve been in the Hoi An/Da Nang area for two and a half weeks, my longest stint in one location since I left Washington, DC on February 7.
Tomorrow, I leave for Bali, Indonesia to participate in a 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training along with a five day silent meditation retreat. I’m pumped as they are both supposed to be life changing. Hopefully they live up to the reviews.
I started in Myanmar for 16 days. Too short is all I’ll say about that, but you can read more about the trip here. The next month and a half has been all Vietnam.
My first stop in Vietnam was Da Lat in the south, a very popular city amongst the locals, to meet up with a friend. We stayed there for three days, then did a Central Highlands tour before heading to Saigon for a week which included a Mekong Delta day trip.
After my friend left, I flew off to Phu Quoc Island to stay at the insane Peppercorn Beach Resort for six days. Words can’t describe the relaxation that place offered, and I was so sad to leave.
Then I flew on up to Hanoi, Vietnam, for four days and some amazing Bun Cha and rain. Due to the weather, I decided against traveling to Sa Pa and Ha Long Bay, which was a major bummer. At the same time, I was so sick of jumping around that it was partly a relief.
That landed me down in Da Nang in central Vietnam. The third largest city in Vietnam, it is a budding digital nomad hub and includes both a beach and a city, my ideal setting. I posted up shop in Da Nang for a few days before going to check out Hoi An, which is only about 45 minutes away.
Knowing Hoi An was a bit touristy, I didn’t expect to like it, but I ended up meeting the digital nomad community here and never left, and have been here for about two weeks. It’s also where I’ve been able to finally settle down to get this puppy launched.
What a relief. I’m out there! Yikes!
I plan to post at least once per week, planning for a Sunday night (Bali time) post each week. Thoughts, suggestions, ideas? I welcome them in the comments. Many thanks for reading and following along!
